  • Additional Information

FLOX-0-FLOX TAB is a high-efficacy combination antimicrobial formulation consisting of Ofloxacin, a fluoroquinolone antibiotic, and Ornidazole, a nitroimidazole class antiprotozoal and antibacterial agent. This synergistic combination is ideal for mixed infections involving anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, especially in regions where such dual-pathogen infections are common.

Developed and exported by BluepillExpress, this formulation is manufactured in WHO-GMP certified facilities under strict international quality controls. It is widely used in both hospital and community settings for treating gastrointestinal infections, dysentery, bacterial vaginosis, post-operative infections, and gynecological infections.

    Therapeutic Indications

Acute diarrheal conditions with suspected bacterial and protozoal causes

    Amoebiasis and Giardiasis

Bacterial vaginosis and mixed vaginal infections

    Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID)

    Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

Post-surgical infections of the abdomen and pelvis

    Dental infections and periodontal infections

Respiratory tract infections where anaerobic coverage is needed

    Mechanism of Action

Ofloxacin inhibits bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV, leading to the prevention of DNA replication and bacterial death.

Ornidazole enters anaerobic cells and protozoa, where it undergoes reduction to active metabolites that disrupt DNA synthesis, causing cell death.

This combination ensures a broad-spectrum action covering both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria as well as protozoa, reducing the need for multiple drugs.
