AVOSTERIDE Capsule is a specialized medication widely used in the treatment and management of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), commonly known as prostate gland enlargement. The active ingredient in AVOSTERIDE is Dutasteride, a synthetic 5-alpha-reductase inhibitor that works by blocking the conversion of testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT), the primary hormone responsible for prostate enlargement in adult males. Dutasteride effectively reduces serum and intraprostatic DHT levels, which leads to a gradual reduction in prostate size, improved urinary flow, and relief from the urinary symptoms associated with BPH.

Benign prostatic hyperplasia is a common condition affecting aging men, particularly those over the age of 50. It causes the prostate gland to grow in size, which can compress the urethra and restrict normal urine flow.
